Despite the unpredictable Colorado rain storms, this wedding at the Manor House in Littleton, Colorado was absolutely beautiful! Ali and James inquired a week or so ago, and thankfully, I live 15 minutes from this venue... so glad it worked out that I could paint for them on Memorial Day weekend! Enjoy your honeymoon, you two love birds!!
Taylor and Bennett's wedding could not have been more glamorous, and perfect! Gregory Blake Sams Event's did a spectacular job of incorporating a unique Art Deco theme, while keeping the style tasteful and pleasant. As an artist, painting this scene was an exciting challenge. I truly loved combining all the different rooms and colors, and several different scenes into one painting. Hope to see you again soon Charleston! xo, Jennie Lou
What a memorable wedding!!
First of all, the bride's dress was her mother's and has been worn now by 6 family members... it was absolutely gorgeous! Fun fact: I painted Abby's twin sister's wedding last year too at the same home:)
Secondly, Texas summers can get really hot, and this wedding was no exception. It was 102 outside for this precious couple's outdoor ceremony at the bride's family home on Lake Travis. The guests were such troopers the whole time, until it just got to be too much - one person jumped in and the rest of the wedding guests followed, including the bride and groom!
I have to say, it takes a special bride and groom to embrace such a hilarious turn of events! Everyone was laughing and splashing around in the pool the rest of the afternoon. An unforgettable wedding, for sure! I wish I could have jumped in too...
Last weekend I was in Houston, Texas painting at the lovely Astorian. The classy venue is tucked away in an unassuming industrial part of town, and has wonderful views of the city! I really enjoyed incorporating the buildings into the skyline, and doing my best to draw lots of straight lines for the windows! Austin and Mason are the loveliest couple, so genuine and sincere! I saw lots of Baylor friends, and enjoyed engaging with the crowd! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jolesch!!
This was a first to paint on a balcony behind glass walls, where everyone can see you but you can’t hear them! I kept looking down to see people frantically waving at me, while “painter focus mode” tried to keep me on task. I’m sure they saw me dancing to the music up there – this band was amazing!!

Thank you to the most elegant, Mr. and Mrs. Maloney!! Your dance classes paid off, you two owned that sparkly dance floor.
Last weekend, I painted in Charleston, South Carolina at the William Aiken House. The week before, I painted at a wedding in Dripping Springs, Texas at Camp Lucy. I'll admit, sometimes traveling wears me out, quite a bit. But, it is always worth it to see the look on the bride's face when she sees the painting. There's such value in having a painting of your wedding day, and I'm always reminded of why I do what I do when I get to meet the people who take them home. Here's to wonderful clients!! xo, Jennie

We just got back late last night and this is the best email to come back to! Thank you for the sweet words, it's always nice to hear how someone else sees things! We LOVE the painting!!!! It seriously is so beautiful and better then anything I could have pictured! You did a great job and Doug and I were saying on the Honeymoon we are so glad we chose you and have something to keep and look back on for many years to come! I cant wait to go pick it up...
Thank you for taking the time to come and I hope you had easy travels!! I would recommend you to anyone!Jennifer (Houston, TX)
It is always a pleasure working with Texans in Colorado! I think the warmth and comfort of familiar people makes me paint better. Friday night I had the honor of painting for, not one but two, family friends in Beaver Creek at Beano's Cabin, for the Rehearsal dinner. It brought me to tears to hear the speeches about these two lovely people!
Saturday morning, I woke up and drove to Basalt to paint another wedding at the Roaring Fork Golf Club as a surprise from the groom to his bride... low and behold, I personally knew the bride and did not even know until I arrived! Such a special weekend, and the mountains held off the snow until Sunday... perfect timing! Safe travels, Texans! xo, Jennie
My wonderful friend, Jessie, woke me up at 7am one morning to do a fun shoot in one of my favorite parks, Washington Park, in Denver. As the sun rose on the lake and the geese swam circles around their little babies, it was the perfect morning to paint a simple impressionistic rendering of iconic lake. Live paintings are really just connecting the world around me, with the canvas in front of me. Painting constantly teaches me to pay attention to the ordinary – there is magic right before our eyes, it just takes awareness to see the extraordinary. Notice the soft transition of colors during a sunrise or sunset, the sweet intricacy of flower petals, the way light dances through water... look for it.
